Happy Easter 2011

In the hope that your Easter celebration renews your spirits this April, here's a collection of Easter bonnets, vintage Hollywood style. Please click on the thumbnails below to see these ladies in their finery, (no matter how outlandish). I hope their creative chapeaus give you a smile:

Happy Easter, Moira, to you and those you love.

I'm afraid the moments of reflection that accompany this time are eluding me at present. I mustn't try too hard.

My, how I wish I had a hat head like the ladies of yore. I try for that once in a while, but end up with the "crazy lady" look.

Brilliant, could of definitely done with wearing one of these today!

Thanks for the beautiful collection of hats! If only they made them that way now. Two women today in church were wearing hats....but they didn't look anywhere near as nice as those!

Happy Easter!

Best wishes, Moira, for a very happy Easter and a blessed Eastertide,

Moira, your Easter bonnet pictorial put a big smile on my face! My dear late mom was quite a beauty and fashionista, and she really knew how to rock a snappy chapeau! One of our favorite movies to watch together was THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY, with its "Anatole of Paris" sequence. Hope your Easter weekend is as happy, holy, and festive as you want it to be!

Thanks for the Easter bouquets, friends! I am hoping that the world's recent renewed interest in "the fascinator" and other headgear, which is coming to a head this week with the "little" wedding of Will and Kate, might lead to all of us wearing a hat whenever we have the chance. I know I'm a dreamer, but if I could just look as crisply together as Billie Burke or Ruth Hussey for one day, I'd be a happy gal.

DorianTB, Anatole of Paris has just returned, as you can see in the blog I posted below this one. Thanks so much for reminding me of that amusing sequence.

Those were the days. Hope the remaining part of your Easter goes down as smoothly as a chocolate bunny.
Cheers--and thank you very much,
Moira

What a great idea for an Easter post. Love those hats. My mother had quite the collection back in the day. Not terribly daring or outlandish for the time, but today they'd be eye-catching.

I think that many of us have memories of our mother's hats, since ladies of their generation never left the house without a hat and gloves. I can still recall a rich brown velvet tri-corner hat she had with a veil and pheasant feathers! It was a knockout that she wore in the Fall. I can't imagine wearing any of her stylish toppers without looking like a weirdo today--but I guess casual is better, huh? ;-(

Thanks for stopping by, Jacqueline.
Appreciatively,
Moira
